Rolly Kitambala Kayumba is a Congolese Entrepreneur, Software Engineer and Founder of Congo River Marathon, the biggest annual sports event in Central Africa, where people from all around the world gather as one community, dedicated of making running a collective experience and creating a more health-conscious society. With the purpose to pay it forward and advance social upliftment in the fields of education, health and environment in the DR Congo.
Nancy Bachmann
Nancy Bachmann is a German Entrepreneur, with over 15 years of working experience in the fields of media, publishing and wellness. Former Manager at Mercedes-Benz, Co-Founder Chief Executive Officer of Los Angeles Cold Press, a healthy lifestyle brand based in Berlin, setting new standards for conscious living. She is also Global Editor in Chief of Motherland Escapes, an independent travel guide and publisher, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the mighty continent Africa. Nancy is a bridge builder and connector of people and worlds, dedicated to transformation, change and new ways of living.
Dan Owen
Dan Owen is a Lead Social Development Specialist at the World Bank, based in Kinshasa, DRC where he is the operations lead for social development/social sustainability and inclusion programming in the Eastern and Southern Africa region and team leader for the Stabilization and Recovery in Eastern DRC Project (STAR-Est). He leads the World Bank community of practice on Security and Violence Prevention and is the program manager of the Global Program for Reintegration Support. Whilst based in Washington DC, he was an ambassador for parkrun USA and Event Director for the Washington DC parkrun at Fletcher’s Cove. Parkrun is likely the largest provider of volunteer opportunities on the planet and the biggest running event in the world and is crafted around a simple concept – free, for everyone, forever, with an aim to create a healthier and happier planet. Parkrun 5k events take place each Saturday in 20 countries all around the world in over 2,000 locations, bringing people together, championing inclusiveness and wellbeing. And it is this simple concept and its clear proof in design that inspires Dan in his work with the CRM to search for pathways to expand the public good, public health benefit and the positive social capital that comes from community initiatives around health and physical well-being. He lives in Kinshasa with his wife and dog and minus his four children attending university in the USA.
Khalil Manji
Khalil Manji is an experienced entrepreneur with a successful track record of starting, growing, and managing a diverse range of business ventures across multiple industries in the DRC, Angola, Portugal & Dubai. With a strong background in real estate and construction, Khalil has built a profitable portfolio of businesses in real estate, fast food restaurants, fast fashion, and branded hotel development. He has a proven ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities and has successfully executed large-scale projects ranging from high-end residential construction to the development of mixed-used projects, has launched and operates fast fashion retail outlets, and food & beverage restaurants, and is developing 5 hotels with Accor in DRC. His determination and passion for success have earned him a reputation as a reliable and trusted partner, both with investors and clients. He has a deep understanding of the ins and outs of doing business. He takes a hands-on approach to every project, from start to finish, leading from the front. In his free time, Khalil loves to travel, explore new cultures, and try out different cuisines as well as devote his time and resources to social causes close to his heart.
Benjamin Skolnik
Benjamin has dedicated his professional life to environmental protection. He spent a decade in Latin America supporting bird conservation projects with American Bird Conservancy. Currently serving as a foreign service officer with the United States Agency for International Development, Benjamin has managed diverse portfolio of biodiversity conservation, climate change, agriculture and economic development activities in sub-Saharan Africa. He spent four years running the streets of Kinshasa and fervently believes Congo River Marathon can be a leading organization to build health and happy communities.
